A linguistic typology for Libras

Abstract

This article is a report on the doctoral research we developed in 2023, which focused on a typological proposal that could be applied to Libras. To do this, we used naturalistic videos on YouTube and Instagram, which were produced by deaf people to compose the corpus that allowed us to design our proposal, called Interface Typology, which starts from a cognitive-functional orientation. The proposal is made up of epistemological principles that support it, types of interface, grammatical categories that make up each interface and the systematization of the functioning of these categories.
