Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the sentence structure in Libras, focusing on word order in structures with arguments based on data from the Corpus of Libras with deaf people from the Florianópolis area. The study analyzed interactions in Libras, annotated through the Eudico Annotator System (ELAN). Data analysis was performed from these syntactic units with specific annotations of the components of each sentence. For this research, only the sentences with the realized arguments were analyzed, because the focus was to identify the arguments and their syntactic positions. This research found that the basic order of words in Libras in less marked sentences with pronounced arguments is SVO, and confirm previously published studies based on elicited data (QUADROS, 1999; FERREIRA-BRITO, 1995).
