Linguistic materiality through the look of opacity: an approach to writing acquisition

Abstract

This article aims to discuss, from a linguistic-discursive perspective, the junction mechanisms, in written texts of the prescriptive Discursive Tradition (KABATEK, 2005), through traces of the oral/spoken and literate/written relationship, in line with the heterogeneity of the writing (CORRÊA, 1997). Thus, it intends to confirm the hypothesis that  the subject moves through what he recognizes as fixed and incomplete in the text, leaving  traces of this circulation in the process of acquiring the written way of enunciating. For this purpose, the corpus is made up of texts written by students of the fourth year of Elementary School, from a public school in São José do Rio Preto (São Paulo). By means of qualitative and quantitative methodology, the linguistic approach showed that, in the syntactic scope, the paratactic architecture predominates over the hypotactic one and, in the semantic, the senses of addition and time are more frequent; and the discursive approach of these results showed that the prescriptive Discursive Tradition is a mix with the descriptive Discursive Tradition. Finally, the results of the linguistic-discursive approach indicate that this mixture happens in accordance with the tactical-semantic functioning of the junction mechanisms as one of the phenomena that characterize the acquisition of writing.
