El meme como replicador de la xenofobia. Una perspectiva interaccional y crítica

Resumo

En este artículo sostenemos que el meme como nuevo género digital no es ingenuo, sino que contiene un gran poder ideológico para replicar la xenofobia. Existe una amplia literatura sobre las características y funciones del meme, pero no se ha dado atención a lo que significa su proliferación en la web 2.0 en relación con el daño a la calidad del diálogo social y la profundización de los prejuicios y la violencia contra los migrantes. Por este motivo, el objetivo de nuestra investigación fue develar el sistema de indicadores que ponen al descubierto la presencia y replicación de la xenofobia en los memes. En este trabajo ofrecemos una propuesta metodológica interaccional y crítica, con el propósito de orientar el diseño de investigaciones en las que se use el meme como unidad de análisis, y así comprender mejor el funcionamiento de procesos migratorios que se propagan en internet y que afectan el funcionamiento del mundo físico y socio-cognitivo. Junto con contextualizar la migración venezolana, caracterizamos el meme como género digital y explicamos y aplicamos la metodología que hemos diseñado para analizar los memes como replicadores de la xenofobia
